Recipes for Wellness - Did You Know?
There are many people who suffer from allergies and ultimately rely on sinus medications and allergy pills. Though it's our bodies response to an allergen such as pollen, dander, dust etc., Mother Nature does have a remedy for that problem. Essential Oils are nature's antihistamines. Many oils have anti-inflammatory properties and can help ease inflammation in the sinuses and airways. These little gems can be used in a differ, inhaled or used topically.
When used in a diffuser, it's not necessary to diffuse non-stop. Diffusing for 15 - 20 minutes intermittently will provide a great benefit. When used as an inhalation there are a few recommendations: Add a couple of drops to a cotton-ball or pad and inhale as needed to open up the nostrils. Add a drop or two to your palms, rub together and inhale. You can also add a drop or two to your pillow at night. This can also help you sleep. Topically: Adding 1-2 drops in a carrier oil to the back of the neck, around the sinuses and on the chest can provide great relief by helping to loosen mucous and open the airways. |
